DONE AND DONE.

Day Thirty: TJ Maxx cardigan, F21 skirt, Kenneth Cole boots
Featuring:
tights, Bass Outlet
socks, Bass Outlet
scarf, gift

I'M DONEEEE. I'M DONE I'M DONE I'M DONE.

Finally. And only a week (or two...) behind schedule. Not too shabby for my first 30-for-30.

My entire Winter Edition is tallied up over on my sidebar (Thanks again, Kimmie!), so feel free to check out my outfits and let me know which were your favorites!

Personally, I loved 6, 9, 13, and 20. This adventure definitely helped spark some wardrobe creativity, and I certainly appreciate the clothes I already own much more than I did a month ago.

TIME TO GO SHOPPING!!! WOOOOOOO!!!

Frontier Friday

Day Twenty Nine: Valerie Stevens fur vest, H&M flannel tunic, F21 cut-offs, Kenneth Cole boots
Featuring:
tights, Target
socks, Bass Outlet

I feel like I'm channeling my inner Frontiersman today.  Although, I doubt Louis and Clark or Paul Bunyan ever wore homemade cut-off shorts with tights.

I love this flannel shirt. It is the first one I have ever purchased, and I've been able to remix it into some super comfy outfits:
Tucked into a corduroy skirt
Belted with jeans
Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you all have as much fun this weekend as I'm going to :)

Businesswoman by day, Housewife by night

Day Twenty Eight: H&M blazer, H&M dress, UO boots

Featuring:
earrings, gift (Baby Bro bought them for me while he was in NYC!)
tights, Target

I reallyyyy wanted to wear my green flats with this, but it's raining today. Womp womp.

But good news! Only TWO outfits left, AND tomorrow is Friday! Hooray!

This weekend is going to be a little ridiculous. My brother and his best friend are probably visiting Friday, then Saturday is the St. Patrick's Day Parade downtown, and then Sunday my boo/favorite cuddle buddy is coming to visit!

I absolutely love when people come to visit me. There is something about playing hostess that I find really appealing: cleaning/organizing before they arrive, cooking dinner, introducing old friends to new ones... I love all of it. Housewife-in-training, anyone?

Speaking of domesticity, I made a really yummy (and so simple) dinner last night - spanish-style rice and beans!
Ingredients: olive oil, garlic, red onion, tomato paste, chicken (or vegetable) stock, cumin, rice, black beans, salt and pepper. avocado and shredded cheese to garnish!
Directions (yields about 4 servings): saute 1 Tbsp minced garlic and 1/4 cup chopped onion. set aside. saute 1 cup of rice in olive oil until lightly browned. add to rice the sauteed garlic/onion, 1 cup water, 1 cup stock, 6 oz of tomato paste, 1 tsp of cumin, 1 tsp salt and a dash of pepper. stir and simmer for 30 hour. stir in black beans and serve!

I used the leftovers today to make a BALLER burrito. I just added scrambled eggs, sour cream, and salsa, then wrapped it up!

Check it out!

Day Twenty Seven: Target top, Charlotte Russe shorts, Kenneth Cole boots
Featuring:
tights, Target
earrings, Charlotte Russe

I'm fresh out of things to talk about today, so instead I'm going to shamelessly promote!

I have a fun little thing called a Tumblr that I use to share things I like or inspire me. It's mostly pictures with some videos thrown in there.

Also, if you look to your right, you will see my Twitter feed! I use my Twitter account to share whatever is on my mind, what I'm doing, or funny things I come across.

So yeah, if you find me remotely interesting, feel free to follow my other internet thingies. I really appreciate all the people who take the time to look at this blog and leave comments, you guys are just great. THANK YOU!!

EBEW: Polka Dots!

Day Twenty Six: Gap cardigan, F21 dress, UO boots

Featuring:
ring, F21
tights, gift

I got these footless tights as a gift last Christmas and was completely stumped on what to wear them with. They have been waiting patiently in my tights/socks drawer for the past year, and I am so excited I finally figured out an outfit for them!

As Elle knows, I've been lusting after a pair of sheer black tights with black polka dots. I think I would wear those more often, since these are a little bulky to wear with shorts. And we all know how much I love shorts+tights.

Go check out how Everbody, Everywhere wore their dots!

Behind Schedule

Day Twenty Five: Target top, F21 jeans, UO boots
Featuring:
tank, A&F
scarf, Esprit

We got hit with an ice/snow storm yesterday morning, so I didn't have to go to work! After a day of catching up on my Hulu queue and doing homework, the roomie and I finally got out of our pjs and met up with friends for wursts, brats, and biers.

Since I am dayssss behind everyone else on the 30-for-30, I forced myself to snap a quick picture before we left.  At least I'm not the only one lagging behind.

And don't worry, I'm wearing polka-dot tights today. Pictures are forthcoming!

Self-Indulgence

Day Twenty Four: JC Penney top, Talbots pants, UO pumps

Featuring:
necklace, Claire's
tank, F21

I got a little self-indulgent with my poses today. I was feeling the Tyra pretty hard this morning and just couldn't help myself.

Also, don't worry, I didn't walk into work with my HBC hair. That is just how I wear my hair in the morning when I'm getting ready, it helps volumize it a bit. (I got enough looks the other day because of my teal tights, I don't want to shock everyone twice in one week.)

Today is Friday! Which means fun things are ahead. Specifically, a St. Patrick's Day parade with a bunch of my college friends. I'm way too excited for bagpipes and beer specials. And the color green. I am a redhead afterall.

Sneezy McGee

Day Twenty Three: F21 top, F21 skirt, Valerie Stevens vest, Asos flats

Featuring:
bracelet, gift
tights, Target

Spring has to be approaching because my sinuses are all aflutter today. I've never been so happy about allergy symptoms. It was deceptively sunny today though, thus my shivering in the 2nd picture.

Despite my constant sniffling, I feel pretty glam today. I think it's this vest. And this bracelet is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. I should just move to Copenhagen and wear fur and jewels all the time and pretend I'm a member of the royal family. And drink good beer. Denmark, I miss you.

Also, today is Excitement Day over at Jen's blog. If you want to get in on the action, link to her post.

And because I have no shame, here is my excited face:

Mermaid Legs

Twenty Two: F21 dress, H&M cardigan, UO boots

Featuring:
tights, Target
socks, Bass Outlet
necklace, Express

These tights remind me of mermaid fins. I even added my coral necklace, so I could complete the transformation.
Not surprisingly, I loved Ariel when I was a kid. Mostly because she was the only red-haired Disney Princess and partially because I was jealous of her singing ability. I wonder if watching Prince Eric fall in love with her so many times is the reason I love the tall, dark, and handsome types.

Side note, I'm thinking about cutting my hair. Like, a good 3-4 inches. Thoughts?

Supreme Organization

Day Twenty One: H&M top, Talbots pants, Modcloth flats

Featuring:
necklace, gift

I went through all my previous outfits yesterday and tallied how often I have worn each item. I'm trying to wear everything 3 times, just to keep things interesting. It was sunny today, so I was FINALLY able to wear my favorite shoes: these little green guys from Modcloth. Green snakeskin and a hidden one inch heel? Yes, please.

In keeping with my organization and productivity, I am cleaning my room tonight and reorganizing my clothes. When I moved into my apartment I was pretty thrown off by how much less closet space there was. I got really spoiled in college because as an RA I had a double room to myself, ie. two closets. So, when I unpacked up here I just put things where I could fit them. If only I could start swapping winter clothes for summer ones!

It's the Final Countdown!

Day Twenty: F21 sweater, F21 jeans, Unlisted pumps

Featuring:
tank, Victoria's Secret
necklace, F21

I am still exhausted from last week/the weekend. I've been trying to balance working 5 days a week with 3 graduate-level classes AND still have a social life. It is tiring.

Good news is:
Only 10 outfits left!
Only 4 days until Spring Break!

And while my weekend was a little crazy, it was quite excellent. I went back to my hometown Saturday to see friends/family and a litany of good things happened:

1. found out I am getting $600 back from my tax return. HELL YES.
2. had a 3-course dinner date with my brother at my favorite mexican restaurant. We had oysters on the half shell, bacon wrapped shrimp in a honey bbq sauce, chorizo and zucchini flower quesadillas, flan, and sangria. It was all amazingly delicious, but I had a third trimester sized food baby for the next 12 hours.
3.  saw some good friends for the first time in far too long.
4. got a HOUR LONG FULL BODY MASSAGE that was so good I could barely concentrate enough to drive afterwards. I have never felt so zen in my entire life.
5. played with my friend's 9 week old puppy for like, 3 hours straight. His name is Gunner and he is probably one of the most adorable things I have EVER seen
6. I did laundry! Not exactly my favorite activity, but trust me, it really needed to be done. Yay, productivity.
7. THE ACADEMY AWARDS. I could care less about the political aspects or popularity contests, I'm in it for the clothes. Rachel Zoe styled the crap out of Anne Hathaway and she looked absolutely stunning. As did Mila Kunis, but nothing new there. That girl sweats sex appeal.

Little White Lines

Day Nineteen: Target top, Gap skirt, UO boots

Featuring:
leggings, Target
scarf, F21
headband, Charlotte Russe

So, I may or may not be cheating a little today. This striped number is technically not in my 30.

BUT, BEFORE YOU SCOLD ME, I am only wearing it today because I let my friend borrow my navy sweater (which I planned on wearing with this skirt, blue tights, and brown boots) and I have yet to get it back. So, until it is returned to me, I am replacing it with this guy.

If you judge me and put giant red Cs on all of my clothes, I will counter with this: I have not shopped for clothes/accessories since the beginning of this challenge. And that my friends, is a big freaking deal.

*Please excuse my scarf tag, distracting purse, and muddy boots*

Busy Bee

Day Eighteen: H&M top, F21 skirt, UO boots

  Featuring:
scarf, F21
tights, Target

This outfit is the direct result of a suggestion from Jen. It served me well today; I needed something that could transition from work and running errands to doing research for a news article and getting sushi with the girls. Honestly, I don't think I would have paired these two items together on my own, but I really love the pink and black lace with the olive green. This skirt was such a great purchase. I've been able to remix the crap out of it, just like I predicted.

Other ways I've worn it:
